Face Fruits I: Mahogany Color Face Fruits

Face Fruits are the main product of the Tree of Life. These represent each individual person that has lived, is living and will come to live. They are meant to be symbolic so are not realistically made but stylized. For same reason, there's a bit of stereotyping in these images and their names.

These pieces shown below are works I have made in Japan and are made of clay , cloth and other materials. This large group of face fruits were made around 2005-2006 and range in size from 4" to 15"h.w.l.

Mahogany Face Fruits are those where a main finish color is mahogany. Other stain varnish colors were also used to obtain a richness in finish, but mahogany was the main color.
