These are samples of works displayed in exhibitions that I have either participated recently or will be showing in near future.
The cover illustration is of "Talisman“ appearing in the novel, “Way Station”.
Originally titled, "Here Gather the Stars",, "Way Station" is an award winning
science fiction novel by Clifford Simak. It was written in1963 at the height of cold war. It is a story about an ageless civil war veteran who watches over an interstellar station secretly hidden under an outward cover of an old farm house. It is the only station on Earth as Earth is at a far corner of this galaxy and aliens drop by for a brief, resting visit on their way to other stars. Travel is via transmission rather than through star-ship . In this background is a story of lost and recovery of 'Talisman' which under the right 'Guardian' the mystical energy of Talisman generates and bring forth peace and order to the cosmos.
I have read Way Station when I was a teenager back in the late1960's. I use to think it would be wonderful to create a Talisman that emits a calming, warm energy to the surrounding. Coming across the book the other day after over 50 years, I found myself realizing here that I have become a sculptor and that I am creating objects with title, “ Cosmic Trees” that represent a cosmos. Unknowingly, the desire to create “Talisman” must have been deeply, deeply embed into my subconscious.
As in the 50's and 60's with tensions so high and the world led by crazy leaders, I wish the Providence would generate a 'mystic energy' of sort into my cosmic tree works to bring peace and sanity into the world- so I dream (laugh).

I was invited by Sharon Servillio of artist owned gallerly, Gallery 114, in Portland, Oregon with the title, " Hyphae". Quoting Sharon, " Hyphae are the mycelial threads that grow through the soil, forming networks, converging and diverging, and exchanging signals and nutrients with plant roots. The mechanism of how they decide to grow in certain directions is still somewhat mysterious to scientists. I thought it seemed like a good metaphor for artists’ process".
This turned out to be one of the most interesting and enjoyable
group show I have been invited to.
